We offer a small but select artisanal cheese selection from small local producers.
Our Monthly Pairing
Merlot & Cheese
Our new favorite cheese is the Bellavitano Merlot, a pasturized cow’s milk cheese that is creamy on the palate, robust and sharp with sweet, fruity undertones. It’s a classic profile of a young Parmesan cheese with a slight granular texture and a pleasing aroma. The berry and plum notes of the Merlot soaked rind makes it a perfect match with one of our new popular Merlots. The 2017 J. McClelland, Oak Knoll District, Napa Valley Merlot. This wine exhibits aromas of blueberries, plums, pomegranate and bay leaves, which follow thru on the palate with accents of black cherry and a touch of white pepper. The excellent acidity, balanced tannins and 26 months in french oak barrels create a long, satisying finish. With only 189 cases produced, made by Mitch Cosentino & Paul Scotto, two legendary California winemakers, makes this wine hard to find and quick to sell out.
